Winter Is Coming

Winter Is Coming: Get Your Vehicle Ready!

The weather is starting to get a little cooler and colder days are coming, Liberty Buick GMC wants to be sure you are prepared for frigid mornings and snow days. Getting ready for winter means getting your vehicle should be geared up for the cold. Everything from new tires to snow packages and heated seats. Whether you are looking for a brand new vehicle to help you make it through the cold or just looking to prep your current ride, Liberty Buick GMC is here to help. Here is your winter servicing checklist: Tire Prep Before winter rolls in, it is a good idea to get your tires checked. If anything needs to be fixed, repaired, or replaced this is the time of year to get everything checked out and ready for the winter weather. Liberty Buick GMC has the best Certified Service Technicians to handle all of your tire needs. You can also browse through the Tire Finder Tool online to start your tire search. Maintaining your tires to keep them in quality shape can be challenging with wheel alignment and balance, tire pressure, tire rotation, and wear and tear. Tires require a lot of work and care to keep them it top condition. Wheel Alignment and Balance To help prolong your tire’s lifespan it is essential to keep your wheels aligned. When wheels become unaligned it can cause uneven wear to your tire and even cause bearing, shock, and suspension problems. If your vehicle is pulling to one side or your tires are showing uneven wear, then it is a good idea to have your tires realigned. Tire Pressure Tire pressure is constantly changing as the weather changes. For every temperature change of 10 degrees Fahrenheit, tire pressure changes about 1 psi. In the summer the pressure is higher and in the winter pressure is lower. To ensure your tires are at the correct PSI, it is a good idea to check the pressure at least once a month. Tire Rotation To extend the life of your tires and improve performance it is always important to rotate your tires. Tire rotations are done to help make wear and tear even on all tires. Each tire works differently causing them to wear at a different pace. To help prevent uneven wear and increase the lifespan of your tires, tires should be rotated every 7,500 miles. Vehicle Inspection Car inspections are always a good idea to be sure you abide by the law, ensure your safety, and compile with registration regulations in North Carolina. For your safety, it is important that all the bolts and screws on your vehicle are secure. Liberty Buick GMC is a Certified Inspection Station and a great place to take your vehicle for Vehicle Safety Inspections and Emissions Inspections. We take the extra step when it comes to vehicle inspections to ensure your safety. A vehicle inspection at Liberty Buick GMC checks: Tires Foot and Parking Brakes Directional Lights Engine Lights Steering Suspension Components Wiper Blades Oil Change Before winter rolls in, it is important to check your oil. The first step is checking your oil to make sure the correct amount is in your vehicle for proper use. An oil leak or low oil can cause your vehicle to run differently and often causes issues in your car. It is also important to have your oil changed every so often, depending on your vehicle and the type of oil your vehicle requires. Most cars require an oil change every 7,500 to 10,000 miles to adapt to the normal service schedule but some older vehicles may need oil changes as often as every 3,000 miles. On the other hand, newer vehicles may allow you to go for 15,000 miles before needing an oil change. Liberty Buick GMC has Certified Technicians that preform oil changes. Buick’s newer vehicles have a special Oil Life System that senses your car’s speed, engine temperature, and monitors operating conditions to help determine the best time for an oil change. Check the Antifreeze Antifreeze is one of the top vehicle concerns during the winter months. To prepare for winter it is a good idea to check the antifreeze level in your vehicle. To properly keep your vehicle from freezing, your engine cooling system should be filled with 50/50 mixture of antifreeze and distilled water. To keep your vehicle operating properly and most effectively it is recommended that you follow the manufacturer’s guide for changing the antifreeze. Liberty Buick GMC has the best technicians around that are pros at changing and checking the pressure of your cooling system. Properly Functioning Windshield Wipers Windshield wipers are super important for your safety. Rain, hail, snow, any type of precipitation makes the visibility outside change. When you are driving down the highway it can be difficult to see clearly, so you want to have the best possible view of the road. Properly functioning windshield wipers can make driving in messy weather a little more manageable. Your windshield wiper blades need to be changed if they are: Streaking- the surface will be unclear and the wipers will leave long streaks behind. This often occurs when the blades are dry or dirty Skipping- you will hear a loud, dry skipping sound that indicates that the rubber of the blade is wrapped Worn down-the edge of the rubber will start to round and even peel Split- when the wiper blades are exposed to, too much sun the rubber of the blade will split or crack Bent- damage can cause your wiper blades to become bent. Thing like car washes and scraping ice off of your vehicle can cause damage Brake Check Finally, the brakes. Yep, that one is a no brainer. Brakes are an important part of your safety no matter the season. Winter time means slippery and ice roads so it is important that your brakes are prepared. So how do your breaks actually work? When your foot hits the brake, fluid signals the brakes of all four wheels to stop The force of your foot is multiplied The brake system exerts up to 1,000 pounds of hydraulic pressure to each brake When it comes to your brakes there are two parts the brake rotors and brake pads. When you schedule an appointment with one of our highly trained certified technicians they will inspect both parts of the brakes to ensure your safety. Inspection of the brake hoses for brittleness or cracking Inspection of brake lining and pads for wear or contamination by brake fluid or grease Inspection of wheel bearings and grease seals Adjust parking brake as needed Check brake fluid level at every oil change. Replace fluid according to the Owner’s Manual recommendations Calipers and wheel cylinders should be checked every brake inspection and serviced or replaced as required Inspect the brake lines for rust or punctures As you prepare for winter, don’t forget to schedule an appointment at Liberty Buick GMC to make sure your vehicle is ready to keep you safe during the cold season and through any messy weather.

GMC Sierra 1500

Spend this Hunting Season in the Right Truck, a 2017 GMC Sierra 1500

Hunting without a truck is nothing short of sacrilege, especially here in the South where you can find some of the best hunting in the country. Not just any truck will do, either. You have to have one with the newest updates in technology, performance, and comfort. The avid hunter knows that the truck taken on the hunt often times serves as a bed, and a meal-stop. At Liberty Buick GMC we believe in working with nothing but the best, and this hunting season the best you can do is a new GMC truck. Before venturing out to your favorite spot to hunt, there are three things to consider: what you are going hunt, where you are going to hunt, and what you are going to drive to get the job done. Before we look into what’s in season and where the best places are to find them, let’s start with the transportation. You need something that can serve just as much as a resting place as a mode of transportation. Something that can quietly keep you warm and comfy, yet maintain that certain strength only found in top-of-the-line trucks, which have the capability to move through just about anything and you never have to worry about them letting you down. Maybe it’s these same reasons that the all-new, 2017 GMC Sierra 1500 is already a top-seller. It’s known as one of the best all-around trucks on the market, especially for those who like a bumpy trail over the smooth road. The 2017 GMC Sierra’s expert performance, rugged toughness, and abundance of comfort and space make it the perfect hunting vehicle. The 6.0-liter, V-8 engine with 360 horsepower is incredibly powerful (380 lb-ft of max torque is nothing to laugh at), and more than capable handling any terrain, even with a bed full of the day’s plunder. The interior is nice as well. All the materials and textures are of higher quality than ever before, and there is a surplus of storage space, cup holders, and room to move around. This means whether you are hunting with a bow or a gun, rifle or pistol, the Sierra has plenty of room. It also has five USB ports and a 300 watt inverter for 120 volt plug-ins, so if you need to charge your flashlight, phone, or anything else the Sierra operates as a power hub so that you can be ready for that world class buck, bear, or turkey. Now that you have the perfect truck for hunting, it’s time to decide on the what, where, and when. Here is a detailed list we have compiled of what is in season and where, based on recommendations from the North Carolina Wildlife Resources Commission: Eastern Deer Season: Archery is from September 9 through September 29, 2017. Blackpowder is from September 30 through October 13, 2017. Gun is from October 14, 2017 through January 1, 2018. Central Deer Season: Archery is from September 9 through October 27, 2017. Blackpowder is from October 28 through November 10, 2017. Gun is from November 11, 2017 through January 1, 2018. Northwestern Deer Season: Archery is from September 9 through November 3, 2017. Blackpowder is from November 4 through November 10, 2017. Gun is from November 18, 2017 through January 1, 2018. Western Deer Season: Archery is from September 9 through October 1, 2017; October 15 through November 19, 2017; December 10, 2017 through January 1, 2018 (this is only for antlered deer). Blackpowder is from October 2 through October 14, 2017. Gun is from November 20 through December 9, 2017. Gun Season for Either Sex: Introductory is open the last day of the applicable gun season. Conservative is the last six open days of the applicable gun season. Moderate is open every day of the applicable gun season. Wild Turkey Spring Season: This is for bearded or male turkey only and is open April 14 through May 12, 2018. Wild Turkey (Youth Only) Season: This is for bearded or male turkey only and is open April 7 through April 13, 2018. Urban Archery Season: Archery only is open January 13 through February 17, 2018. Youth Deer Hunting Day: With any legal weapon, this is open only on September 23, 2017. Now that you know what you can hunt and when, it’s time to decide where you and your new GMC Sierra 1500 should go for the fun. Luckily, North and South Carolina have plenty of spots to try, but here are what we think to be some of the best places in Charlotte, Matthews, and surrounding areas to hunt: Central Carolina Outdoor Club is a unique spot with plenty of land (over 4,000 acres) and fellow hunters to pall around with and learn from. There is hunting, fishing, and beautiful spots for camping and enjoying the outdoors. Central Carolina Outdoor Club owns land contained within three of the four deer and game zones in North Carolina, plus four out of five zones in South Carolina! Located within 100 miles of Charlotte, this spot is perfect when you get the urge to hop in your Sierra and head out for a hunt. This is a club, so membership is important, but honestly, what a convenience to have a plot this large and full of game to be hunted. Goldmine Hunting Preserve is a highly successful organization providing quality hunting, trapping, and fishing. Located in Midland, Goldmine Hunting Preserve is been operating for over 37 years and has proven to have prized hunting grounds and game. There are beautiful bodies of water, picturesque views, and a wide-open sky. This is a great spot for weekend trips with friends, or even one for a fun teaching experience with the young ones. Either way, you are sure to have something nice in that Sierra bed on the way home. Allen Brothers Hunting Preserve is a great place to practice the old English tradition of driven pheasant hunts, something you definitely will not find at most other hunting preserves. Driven pheasant hunts involve launching birds from a tower while hunters, poised and ready, take aim at the darting targets. It takes special skill, but is highly satisfactory come the end of the hunt. Allen Brothers also allow for other birds to be hunted on special occasion, but pheasants are the game of choice around these parts. Beaver Pond Sporting Club is perfectly set among the historic Piedmont hills in Snow Camp, North Carolina. Come and enjoy a simply beautiful setting of hills and trees and bodies of water for either a half-day or a full day of fun. Beaver Pond specializes in wing and clay target shooting. No matter what you end up hunting this season, and no matter where you go, be sure and keep safety as priority number one. The best hunters are cautious and smart. Liberty Buick GMC knows that those who plan well, do well and that’s why we suggest the 2017 GMC Sierra 1500 as your next truck. Hunting, fishing, pleasure-drives, these are all done better and more efficiently in a GMC. You will not find a better selection or price range anywhere else than here. Come see us today, and happy hunting!   -Andrae Bergeron

GMC Yukon

Ready For Adventure? Take a Spin in Liberty Buick GMC’s 2017 GMC Yukon!

There is a standard for what makes a vehicle good for adventure. Whether you plan on thrashing through unpaved trails or winding your way through the mountainside, you are sure to want a vehicle with a high level of performance, comfort, features, safety, and fuel economy. At Liberty Buick GMC, we believe that we have the perfect car for your next adventure – and at an unbeatable price! Come check out the all-new 2017 GMC Yukon. We love the 2017 GMC Yukon! It adds a bit of luxury but at the same time a rugged toughness to every morning commute into Charlotte and every vacation experience. You can drive it anywhere – no matter how many passengers or how of long of a trip you take, you are guaranteed a pleasant experience behind the wheel. Just wait until you see how well it handles. There’s nothing like its roomy interior, the seemingly endless array of features, the high safety levels, and excellent fuel economy. Here is a breakdown of each: Performance Under the hood of both the Standard and XL models of the 2017 GMC Yukon is a 5.3-liter, V-8 engine that offers 355 horsepower and 383 pounds-feet of torque. This is a ton of power to have in a base model. In fact, power of this level is usually reserved for the higher-end models of many other SUVs. To take it a step further, the Yukon Denali model provides even more power: 6.2-liter, V-8 engine with 420 horsepower and 460 pounds-feet of torque! In the 2017 GMC Yukon, there are two impressive pieces of technology that make this a high performing SUV. First is the direct injection. This allows fuel to be injected without hindrance, which makes for a seamlessly smooth ride. You will notice that when you hit the gas in the GMC Yukon, that there is no hesitation or stutter. It doesn’t jerk you around or take a minute to get moving. The reaction is immediate and smooth. The second piece of technology that aids in performance is what’s called cylinder deactivation. This saves fuel and creates a better driving experience. Whenever you find yourself in low-load situations, or if you are driving at low speeds, this advancement will actually shut down half of the cylinders so you are not incorporating power you don’t really need. The transition to shutting down these cylinders is seamless (you won’t even notice it happening), and it makes your drive quieter and softer because your RPMs won’t be running out of control. The best way to put it is that the GMC Yukon’s performance is made to handle a variety of different driving situations, making it fit for any adventure you can dream up. Comfort Due to the slick performance technologies, as well as specialized exterior door seals, the interior of the 2017 GMC Yukon is incredibly quiet. So quiet, in fact, that you can hold conversations at normal volume and never have to worry about mechanical vibrations or outside disturbances interfering. Inside there are soft-touch materials placed throughout its rather large dash and armrests. The seats themselves are wide and cushioned to the max. There is plenty of room to stretch and relax from any seat within, which does well to keep passengers from fighting over the “good” spot. Unlike other SUVs, even previous Yukon models, the second and third rows feel just as impressive as the front seats. To make things convenient, the new GMC Yukon’s second and third rows easily fold down at the press of a button – so you don’t have to stress about the laborious task of reconfiguring the interior so you can haul a large piece of furniture. Even without folding seats down, there is plenty of storage space. These factors do well to make your journeys, not only memorable, but relaxing and peaceful as well. Features The 2017 GMC Yukon is a true family SUV. That being said, it is fit and ready for more rugged adventures as well. What’s great about the new Yukon is that you can decide which model is best for you. There is a more family-friendly model in the SLE. This comes with 18-inch alloy wheels, a backup camera, an 8-inch infotainment system equipped with Apple CarPlay, a Bose audio system, automatic climate control with separate rear controls, and tinted windows. It also comes standard with cloth seats, but you can always upgrade if leather is preferred. If you need more features for you and your family to choose from, there are plenty more add-ons to consider. You can always opt for a power liftgate, automatic dimming mirrors, and navigation, just to name a few. If you desire something a bit more advanced with a little more luxury, there is the SLT model. This comes standard with everything in the SLE, plus heated seats in the two front rows, ventilated front seats in the very front, and leather upholstery. Also included are power-folding second and third rows, a proximity key, and a heated steering wheel. You can also add a rear-seat entertainment system, navigation, and a sunroof for little cost. There are many more upgrades and add-ons to consider, but it’s best to try them out in person. When you come to test drive the new Yukon at Liberty Buick GMC, not only will you be able to see everything in action, you will also find each Yukon model at an incredibly low price! Safety Federal regulators report that the 2017 GMC Yukon earns the top score of five stars for frontal and side impacts. It also scores a three out of five for its rollover rating, which is a great score for such a tall vehicle. Combined, the new GMC Yukon earns a four-star rating, something the GMC family is very proud to boast. Here is just a quick list of a few of the issued safety features: Rearview Camera. Six Airbags. Plus a front center airbag for models with front bucket seats. Head-Up Display. This feature relays important information to the driver by displaying messages in direct line of sight so the driver does not have to turn and look away from the road. Vibrating Driver’s Seat. This makes the driver aware of potential safety hazards happening around the vehicle. Lane Departure Warning. Automatic Emergency Braking. Adaptive Cruise Control. Depending on the model of Yukon you choose, some of these safety features come standard and others can be added on, which adds to the new Yukon’s sense of adaptability. Fuel Economy Even though it operates from a powerful V-8 engine, and despite the fact that just a few years ago the Yukon was rated poor in terms of fuel economy, the 2017 GMC Yukon is surprisingly fuel-efficient. Both the direct injection and cylinder deactivation help to save on gas, and if you opt for rear-wheel drive you can get up to 16mpg city and 23mpg highway (19mpg combined). For such a large and powerful machine, 19 combined is not bad at all. If you go all-in, the Denali offers 15 in the city and 22 highway, which is hardly different than the standard model. Sure, a big engine in a big SUV will use extra in gas, but the 2017 GMC Yukon proves it doesn’t have to drain your wallet. Little shortcuts, such as the type of injection used and the utilization of deactivation of unused cylinders helps greatly in GMC’s endeavor to keep trips to the gas station as infrequent as possible.   No matter what your idea of adventure is, the 2017 GMC Yukon has you covered. Its smooth and quiet ride, paired with expert comfort, performance, and safety set you and your passengers up for great fun. Come to Liberty Buick GMC today and find your Yukon at the best possible price!

Buick GMC

An Impressive Era in Car Buying: How Buick and GMC Are Leading the Way

In a decade filled with recalls and scandals among many prominent car manufacturing companies, Buick and GMC have managed to not only keep their heads above water, but they have also been able to make some impressive moves. With soaring sales and incredible reviews, it’s hard to ignore what they have to offer. Liberty Buick GMC offers incredible specials and deals. Over the past few years, Buick and GMC have managed to hit top sales and impress buyers. What makes them so different from all the others? Here are just a few reasons to take a second look at what both companies have been producing over the past few years: Something New and Something Redone Over the past five years Buick has managed to completely overhaul its entire lineup of vehicles. The veteran car company took a classic that has been around longer than most other sedans, the Buick Regal, and successfully turned it into a luxurious, sturdy, and powerful machine. Something many other car companies are still struggling to produce in a sedan. Buick has also created something new and enticing in the Encore, a compact SUV. This sporty ride provides a new face for Buick, something brighter and more vibrant. If Buick has lacked in distant years with marketing themselves as a competitive car company, it sure doesn’t show now. Buick is not only in the game, they are up front helping to lead the charge. GMC has done much the same over the past few years. Only they have been able to play into their own hand a bit more with the Sierra truck. From its very creation (which reaches as far back as the early 1960s!) it was a huge hit. What GMC has managed to do is capitalize on something good by constantly keeping it updated with the latest technology, comfort, and high performance capabilities. And it doesn’t hurt that GMC’s SUVs are fan favorites as well. The GMC Yukon SUVs and GMC Sierra trucks alone have managed to carry GMC far. If you just look at the number of trim levels and add-on features these two beasts carry it’s mind-boggling. Expert Advertising Once Buick completed their remodeling of products it became time to let everyone know what they had done. To do this they came out with commercials, which actually poked fun at their former selves. Surely you remember them. Fun music playing in the background to let us know not to take this too seriously. Then some brief cellphone dialogue where one person is talking to a friend while they try to find each other in a parking lot filled with other SUVs and cars. The one in the Buick says something like, “I’m in the Buick,” and the other responds, “but I don’t see a Buick.” Meanwhile, they have been facing one another the entire time and the Buick driver honks the horn, the other enters the car, and we all have a little laugh. But really, you know what we’re laughing at? The fact that Buick would have the guts to do a commercial like this. It is somewhat shocking. Seriously, what other car company would dare poke fun at its former self while at the same time reveal its new creations? Buick, that’s who. And that worked out well for the company. It got everyone’s attention, and guess what. We like what we see. America likes the new Buick. As for GMC, they’ve only had to keep doing what they do best, portray the GMC Sierra as America’s truck. And it’s not just a portrayal. Watch any recent GMC Sierra truck commercial and you will see and hear stories of family men and women who want the best for their families and friends. People who want to keep the good life going by doing as little harm to others as possible. And what common thread do these American dreamers have in common? Yep, they all drive GMC Sierras. GMC is able to make bold assertions in their marketing and get away with them because they have made one of the boldest trucks on the road. The fact is, both Buick and GMC have won car and truck drivers over. We like that they don’t take themselves too seriously, but at the same time they make some of the best driving vehicles in the world. It’s tough not to respect that. Dealers Who Care It’s safe to say there has been a shift in recent years for car dealerships to shake off the sales vibe and gravitate towards a more personal feel to the car buying process. But guess what, Buick and GMC dealers have already been doing this. Customer satisfaction has always been number one for Buick and GMC dealers, and it shows. Just come in to Liberty Buick GMC and see for yourself. We pride ourselves on how much we can help the customer find what he or she wants and needs rather than how many people were convinced to buy something. If a customer has a pleasant experience at a dealership, and if the vehicle purchased performs at top levels for an extended period of time, that customer will always come back. And encourage others to do so as well. It’s a way of thought that works and Buick/GMC do it best. True Confidence GMC has every right to be confident, so there’s really no surprise there. The accolades the company has received over the years, for more than just the Sierra, could stand up against any other car company out there. They simply build tough, reliable vehicles. And they’ve been doing it for as long as the company has been around. And that’s quite a long time. Buick, on the other hand, is a little different. Because they needed to completely change their brand, this could be looked at as a sign of weakness. Obviously, something was not right if they had to change things up on such a major scale. Moreover, before the big overhaul, Buick was known more as the old person’s car. They just weren’t popular to a wider, younger market. But despite all of this, Buick has come out boldly with a new product that appeals to the older crowd, as well as the younger. The company’s incredible sales and continued commitment to excellence provide nothing but confidence for this company, as it has positioned itself right between high-end workingman’s vehicle and luxury sedan. No matter how you cut it, Buick and GMC is pretty impressive. It’s not just the vehicles they make, it’s the thought and care that goes into every detail of the entire process. They choose to be honest and forthright in what they do. There are no scandals, no pretending to be something they are not. And that’s the same type of operation being run at Liberty Buick GMC. We are here to serve you. And that means honesty and expertise from start to finish. Come in and see us today at Liberty Buick GMC. Let us get you into a brand new Buick or GMC. You’ll be glad you made the choice to car shop with us!   -Andrae Bergeron

Sierra

Finding Excellence in the Sierra 1500, 2500, and 3500

With a roomy cabin, a tough exterior, and the smoothest ride you will receive in such a powerful machine, the 1500, 2500, and 3500 models have grown to be some of the most popular in today’s market. The Sierra trucks have proven GMC’s quest to create a tough yet luxurious vehicle true, and for countless enthusiasts the Sierra is the only truck worth driving. At Liberty Buick GMC, we think pretty highly of the Sierra as well. That’s why we always stock our lot with those of the most popular colors and trim levels. Buying a Truck: First Thing’s First Before you go to buy a new Sierra truck, it’s important to think about how you will use it. The 1500, 2500, and 3500 all have unique components, which make them a perfect match for different types of truck drivers. Here are a few things to consider when deciding on your Sierra: What sort of things will you be carrying and hauling? If you only need the truck for around the house (hauling mulch, pulling a small trailer, or even some fun off-roading), you might consider a light-duty truck with four-wheel-drive. On the other hand, if you need to carry heavy loads and pull big pieces of equipment, you might consider a heavy-duty truck, maybe even a dually which has four wheels in the rear. And there’s also the mid-duty truck that isn’t quite as extreme as the heavy-duty, but can do more than a light-duty. This level of truck is nice for those who will mostly use it around the house, but occasionally will need it for some big jobs. Just as important as choosing the right size of truck is finding the right engine. The advancements in the modern truck have made it a bit more powerful than that of the old days. Now, a 6-cylinder truck engine can out-perform just about any older V-8. And the modern V-8? Well, these are nothing but raw power and can pull and carry just about anything. Heavy-duty, mid-duty, and small-duty trucks can differ in engine sizes. A small-duty truck usually comes with either a 4-cylinder or 6-cylinder engine, and a mid-and heavy-duty can be a 6 or an 8. Again, just depends on how you plan to use your truck. Another thing to think about is the cab size you will need. A regular cab offers a single row of seating and can create tight quarters for three passengers. A crew-cab, however, has two rows of seating, offering extra space and is more comfortable for longer trips. The size of the cab also affects the length of the bed. The less cab room, the more bed space. There are special cases when you can get an extended bed, which offers the best of both worlds, but this will add length to the truck as a whole, which can take some getting used to. It can be a lot to think about, but there’s no reason to stress. If you find yourself struggling to decide between the right truck, we can help. Let’s take a closer look at the Sierra 1500, 2500, and 3500. The Sierra 1500 The base level of the Sierra 1500 has a 4.3-liter, 6-cylinder engine with 285 horsepower and 305 pound-feet of torque. It can tow up to 7,600 pounds and reach a speed of 60 miles an hour in around eight seconds. Pretty impressive for a base-level engine, huh? But, if you find the need for a little more power, GMC still has you covered with the 1500. Sierra drivers can opt for the 5.3-liter, V-8 engine, which offers 355 horsepower and 383 pound-feet of torque. And regardless of the engine size, all Sierra 1500s come with a tow/haul mode transmission and tap/shift controls. These controls make driving and distributing power much easier no matter the size of the load being carried. Comfort and handling are exceptional in the Sierra 1500. There is the option for rear- or four-wheel drive, and the front strut and rear leaf-spring suspension offer an extra smooth ride no matter how many wheels are pushing you along. But, to truly understand the effect of the leaf-spring suspension you need to take the 1500 for a drive, preferably on a rough road or rigid path. You will be amazed at how well the suspension takes any pothole or bump and translates it as smooth, easy driving. In addition to an undisturbed ride, 1500 drivers will enjoy the crisp steering that allows the Sierra to easily make its way around sharp corners and fit into tight spaces. It’s not only the drive components providing a comfortable ride either. Inside the roomy cabin, the Sierra 1500 is filled with soft materials and pleasing aesthetics. The aluminum and wood trim pieces throughout the inside give of a sense of luxury, while the plush seats and polished dash create a comfortable, happy environment. The Sierra 1500 is surprisingly tough and pleasantly high-end. It offers superior comfort and power for being considered a mid-duty truck. This is a perfect choice for the truck driver who needs something tough, but doesn’t quite need a machine to pull super heavy loads on a daily basis. Sierra 2500 Though the Sierra 2500 shares many of the same aspects as the 1500, it does have more power. It also sits a little higher off the ground than the 1500 and offers different body configurations, such as regular, extended, and crew cab models with bed sizes of 6’6 or 8’ in length. The Sierra 2500 comes standard with a 6.0-liter, V-8 engine with 360 horsepower and 380 pound-feet of torque. Yes, this is the base level of the 2500! And if you still want more strength in your Sierra, you can go for a 6.6-liter turbodiesel V-8 engine, which can handle 445 horsepower and 910 pound-feet of torque. Like the Sierra 1500, the 2500 comes in rear-wheel or four-wheel drive, as well as, the expert rear leaf-spring suspension. The cabin to the 2500 is arguably the nicest interior made for a heavy-duty truck. Thick leather seats, tasteful metallic accents, soft-touch materials, and plenty of storage compartments make this cabin tough to beat. Add in the hands-free connectivity and advanced navigation system and you won’t want to leave. The Sierra 3500 Biggest and baddest of the Sierra trucks, the Sierra 3500 comes standard with a 6.0-liter Vortec 6000, V-8 engine that blows away its competition. And for extreme power, GMC offers the 3500 with a 6.6-liter Duramax turbo diesel V-8 engine that can pull your house off its foundation and drag across town if you like. Well, maybe not that strong, but it’s definitely the most powerful truck in its class. This extra heavy-duty truck is built to work with its 397 horsepower and 765 pound-feet of torque. And it comes with all kinds of bonus features: StabiliTrak (keeps the truck from rolling) and four-wheel anti-lock brakes come standard. OnStar comes standard with trims SLE and up. Automatic crash response, turn-by-turn navigation, and stolen vehicle and roadside assistance come free for the first six months. And there’s more. Built-in 4G LTE connectivity, the IntelliLink touchscreen interface, and an Allison automatic transmission make the Sierra 3500 the envy of every heavy-duty truck driver. Commitment to Excellence GMC’s commitment to excellence is apparent in all three Sierra trucks. And once you find the model that fits best, let us take you for a test drive and answer any questions you might have. Plus, you won’t find a better price on a GMC Sierra truck anywhere other than Liberty Buick GMC. Come see us today!
