The Truck To See And Be Seen In: The New 2024 GMC Sierra HD

The GMC Sierra HD is known for being both the perfect mix of a luxury driver and a rugged machine, capable of pulling the Titanic out of the water and offering a smooth ride while doing it. What truck drivers love about GMC pickups is this luxurious power: a base powertrain of a 10-speed automatic transmission, 401-horsepower, 6.6-liter, V-8 engine; or the 10-speed automatic transmission, 470-horsepower Duramax turbo-diesel with a V-8 engine–with 22,500 pounds of maximum conventional towing. Impressed? You should be. And there’s more… America’s favorite truck is also loved for its innovative trailer assist features: Trailer Side Blind Zone Alert, Transparent Trailer View, plus adaptive cruise control with trailering. But for seasoned Sierra truck drivers, these tout-worthy features are nothing new. So, what’s new for the 2024 models? Plenty! New Features of the 2024 Sierra GMC’s largest pickup gets a slight facelift in the 2024 model, as well as a revised powertrain that allows for more towing capability, but that’s not all. The all-new 2024 Sierra HD also comes with a modernized front fascia and LED headlights and taillights with sequential turn signals. The power and torque levels of the 6.6-liter Duramax turbocharged diesel V-8 have been pumped up to 470 horsepower and it offers 975 pound-feet of torque. Another big change is the replacement of the 401-horsepower, 6.6-liter V-8 gas engine’s automatic transmission with a (Allison-certified) 10-speed automatic transmission–one that is usually reserved for diesel engines, so you know it’s tough. What’s more, there is a new Denali Ultimate trim that comes in the 2500 HD and the 3500 HD that displays a higher level of luxury than any other trim level. The Denali Ultimate includes a leather-wrapped steering wheel and door panels; a 16-way power-adjustable front heated and cooled messaging front seat (both driver and passenger) that includes intricate leather stitching that creates a topographic map of Alaska’s Mount Denali. And let’s not forget the new trailering technology with adaptive cruise control with gross combination weight alert and the famous Transparent Trailer View–now available for gooseneck and fifth wheel trailering. There’s also Sierra HD’s standard driver assistance tech, which has been expanded for 2024, and the AT4X off-road trim has added an AEV Edition that comes with steel bumpers, more durable skid plates, and AEV 18-inch wheels. A Look Under the Hood At the standard, base level the 2024 Sierra HD comes with a 6.6-liter, V-8 engine that offers 401 horsepower and 464 pound-feet of torque. It has a 10-speed automatic transmission, plus rear-wheel or four-wheel drive, and there is an optional Duramax diesel 6.6-liter V-8 that has 470 horsepower and 975 pound-feet of torque that works through an Allison-certified 10-speed automatic engine. The new, massive, Duramax is already being noted for its smooth ride and quality performance. Compared to its heavy-duty competitors, it’s a bit more agile and refined. For all 3500 HD models, you can choose from a single-wheel or a dual-rear-wheel (dually) axle. A Capacity for Raw Power The Sierra 3500 HD is by far the strongest of the GMC pickups, as it can pull as much as 36,000 pounds. In order to pull that much weight, the 3500 comes with a diesel engine, regular cab, rear-wheel-drive, a dual-rear-wheel axle, and a gooseneck hitch. Now, if 36,000 pounds is a bit much–say, you need 32,000-pound capability–then you can go for the same truck, only with a fifth-wheel hitch. The next best in line is the Sierra 2500 HD, which is offered with a single-rear-wheel axle and can tow 22,500 pounds. Surprising Fuel Economy Unfortunately, the Office of Transportation and Air Quality does not assess the fuel economy of large trucks such as the Sierra HD, so we have to rely on independent tests which, thankfully, are already out there. At least for the 2024 Sierra 2500 HD there is. With the diesel engine, it earned 17 mpg on the highway, which is right up there with the Silverado 2500 LTZ crew cab and the Ram 2500 Tradesmen regular cab–both also with diesel engines. So, though there is not much to report on this front, the little information we have is good news for Sierra truck drivers. Comfort and Quality The comfort and quality of the all-new Sierra HD is simply unmatched. This is because GMC realized that comfort doesn’t only mean plush seating and soft-touch materials. True comfort is created when there is more space to move within and reposition. We like our space and when we can’t move about a bit, well, we begin to feel uncomfortable. The interior of the 2500 HD and the 3500 HD come with an expansive dashboard full of user-friendly controls and switches. The bucket seats and full center console offer plenty of wiggle room and the plush seating offers comfort at every position. Drivers have an optional head-up display, heated steering wheel, heated (and cooled) front seats, and wireless device charging, and no matter which option you go with, there are soft-touch surfaces and extra durable plastics used throughout the truck. The Denali Ultimate trim comes with leather-wrapped interior pieces, Paldao wood trim, and a light micro suede headliner.   Once inside the truck, one will quickly realize that its luxury and design do not overshadow the practicality of the vehicle. The noticeable passenger space in the crew cab, the plentiful interior cubby storage both offer aid on those long trips. And this doesn’t only go for the inside of the truck: the long cargo boxes with built-in steps on both sides of the bed allow for easy access to storage, and the rear bumper has steps on each corner to allow for an easy step into the bed, rather than the usual necessity to lift and crawl oneself into the truck bed. The cargo boxes can also be customized with LED lighting, movable tie-downs, and a 120-volt outlet. Most impressive though is the innovative multi-function tailgate that has six different positions easily turning it into a workbench or surface. This is perfect for anyone who needs to work on the go and doesn’t feel like or have the time for sitting in a coffee shop. Now, anywhere you go, your office can be with you. Tech Features No matter which 2024 Sierra HD you choose, you are guaranteed a high-quality touchscreen Infotainment System that includes Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. It’s true that base models have a few less option in terms of technology features, but you can still opt for one to be outfitted with a 120-volt outlet and a mobile hotspot. The Sierra’s Infotainment System includes easy-to-use knobs and buttons that are made of quality plastic that won’t break or fade after years of use. The 8-inch touchscreen can be upgraded with built-in navigation, a Bose audio system, SiriusXM satellite radio, and a rear-seat entertainment system. Drivers can also get a 13.4-inch Infotainment touchscreen that comes with Google Built-in, split-screen navigation that seamlessly connects with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. There truly is no other truck the Sierra HD series of stalwart, luxury drivers. Whether you need a truck for towing or more for a family driver, the Sierra HD has a model for you. Come see us at Liberty Buick GMC today and test drive your new favorite truck.

GM’s Self-Driving, Moon Car

According to U.S. News & World Report, “On Wednesday, May 26, 2021, Lockheed and GM announced that they would combine their technological and manufacturing expertise to build the electric vehicles for NASA’s Artemis program, named after the twin sister of Apollo in Greek mythology (Lockheed Martin, GM via AP).” This is the first step towards revisiting the moon and ultimately returning to Mars. This recently-formed relationship between GM and Lockheed has come about in the hopes of providing NASA with vehicles that are able to handle off-roading conditions, but without all the bulky weight that usually comes with that capability. They need to be light and rugged and able to perform better than the standard Lunar Rovers NASA has used in the past, even as far back as the 1970s—which were also designed by the GM Company. GM and Lockheed working together are important for NASA because without having better mobility it is going to be difficult to further explore the wonders of the moon, not to mention expanding those explorations towards Mars. Just imagine what could be found if astronauts could venture farther than 4.5 miles from where they landed. With the likes of these two venerated companies, NASA will likely have their new space SUVs very soon. The goal of the Artemis program is to have a return mission to the moon in 2024. By then, the plan is to have the first set of rovers that are able to carry two astronauts at once, and another rover type that can drive autonomously. A self-driving rover could explore a broader landscape, particularly those areas too dangerous for astronauts to go. It’s truly an exciting and progressive move that will surely bring about some exciting discoveries. The Driverless Car is Nearly Upon Us What once sounded like complete futuristic fantasy is now upon us: the autonomous car. Though we are not seeing them out and about just yet, the reality of the driverless car is very near. It’s so close in fact, car companies such as BMW, Mercedes, Lexus, and Tesla are all working with the likes of Google and Apple to bring to life the car of the future. Sure, we’re not quite there yet, we are in what is considered to be the advanced testing stage and then production. Meaning that these machine-operated vehicles can, and will, be on the road. Countries all over the world are swarming to get in on the action by throwing millions of dollars towards the process of integrating self-drivers into society. So what is keeping us from moving beyond the “advanced testing” stage? There seem to be some technical and ethical challenges engineers are struggling to solve. For instance, the driverless car will use cameras, radar, and lasers—yes, lasers—to measure distance and shapes. This is to help the vehicles “see” as a human would. And though efforts are being made to help driverless cars communicate with other cars, buildings, and signs, the problem remains that these vehicles are not able to communicate with other human drivers. What will the relationship of the driverless car be with the human-driven car? What happens if they collide? Who is at fault? These questions only scratch the surface of the depths of thought required to drive in high traffic, highways, and emergency situations, but there is no reason why companies such as GM can't find ways of solving these setbacks. While we wait for the driverless era to come upon us, there are plenty of new and used GM vehicles on the Liberty Buick GMC lot and at great prices. Let’s be honest, the price of a vehicle can vary among different dealerships, but at the end of the day, most places will price-match, or at least get the numbers close. Though price does matter when it comes to buying a car, it’s not the biggest issue. What’s more important is the experience. At Liberty Buick GMC, it’s our transparency that is the secret of our success. All of our sales representatives, as well as all our technicians, believe you should never leave a dealership with an uneasy feeling in your gut. We never want you to feel confused or duped into any purchase. Visit us at Liberty Buick GMC and we will help you find your next vehicle!

Buying a Car at the End of the Year: Why the Pros Outweigh the Cons

If you’re in the market for a new car, chances are you’ve heard or read about how the end of the year is the optimal time to buy. And it’s true. There are several times throughout the year that you’ll be able to find some legitimate deals, discounts, and incentives at car dealerships across the country. But you probably won’t find any that match the savings opportunities you’ll see in late December. However, there are pros and cons to almost every decision in life, and buying a vehicle is no different. With great end-of-year savings often come a few drawbacks. Our dealership thrives on helping each of our customers find a vehicle that meets their wants, needs, and budget. That’s why we’ve provided some information and advice about weighing the pros and cons of buying at the end of the year: The Pros A lot of things happen at car dealerships as the end of each year approaches. Typically, in late summer or fall, the first vehicles from the next model year start to become available to dealerships across the country. To dealers, selling next year’s model is almost always easier than selling last year’s model. This means that they are often more willing to cut deals on a wide range of vehicles from the previous model year. As you can imagine, the closer it gets to the end of the year, the deeper the savings opportunities grow for car buyers. October is when the discounts really start to bloom. Then, November comes, along with the Black Friday holiday, which brings significant sales and promotions in its own right. December? Well, you get the picture. At this point, dealers are quite eager to make room in their lots for next year’s models, so the discounts can get deep. A lot of the time, even car manufacturers offer incentives (e.g., cashback offers, great lease deals, 0% interest, etc.) to help dealers clear out their lots for new inventory. Another factor to consider is that salespeople are required to meet monthly, quarterly, and yearly sales quotas. By the end of December, all of these quotas come together. If a salesperson has yet to satisfy their quota(s), they will be far more likely to offer you impressive discounts and incentives. The benefits of buying a 2020 model right now are quite clear. Simply put, you get a brand new vehicle at a significantly lower price. And if you don’t care about certain upgrades that may come with next year’s model, it very well might be the best decision you could make. The Cons There are some disadvantages to buying a vehicle from the previous model year worth considering before you make your decision. First, your vehicle will be a year old when you drive it off the lot. Yes, it will be brand new to you, but this could affect your resale value down the road. For example, if you are trying to choose between a discounted 2020 model and a 2021 model that isn’t discounted, consider this: Even though both vehicles are brand new and sitting on the lot next to each other, years from now, buyers will think of your 2020 vehicle as a year older, which will impact the resale value. This depreciation could consume some of the savings you gained from purchasing the discounted 2020 model. Also, buying a vehicle at the end of the model year means that you might miss out on new technology and features that come with the newer model. Moreover, if the vehicle is undergoing a complete redesign for the new model year, the differences between the vehicles will be far more drastic, and you could be leaving the lot with a vehicle that's design is already outdated. The Verdict The end of the year is a great time to buy a vehicle. If you choose a 2020 model, you’ll likely get deep discounts and incentives thrown into the mix. As long as you don’t care about missing out on any upgrades and features offered by the 2021 model, going with the 2020 model is your best bet. This is also the case if you plan to own the vehicle for many years to come because the depreciation probably won’t make much of a difference to you. Furthermore, since it’s the end of the year, you might not have quite as many vehicles to choose from, though that will likely only be a problem if you have a specific make and model in mind. If you typically buy or lease a new vehicle every two to three years, then you might consider buying the 2021 model to get all of the newest technology and features. And since it’s the end of the year, you may still be able to get a deal, even on a new model. Are you interested in seeing a wide selection of 2020 and 2021 models? Forgotten Tax Write-Offs

Forgotten Tax Write-Offs: Don’t Miss Out on Money You Could Be Saving with Your New Work Truck

Buying a new truck has plenty of perks, but one of them is not taken advantage of nearly enough. If you use your truck for work purposes—and there is a wide range of what is considered a “work purpose”—you might be able to save a lot of money by way of tax write-offs. The holiday season is the best time to purchase a new work truck. The savvy car-buyer knows that the end of year produces some pretty impressive deals, but this same buyer also knows that going for a new work truck has a hidden benefit as well—tax write-offs! Why don’t more people write-off their work trucks? Confusion, most likely. Not so much in the process of making deductions, but confusion in what can be deducted and how to go about writing things off. Fortunately, the process of deducting your yearly taxes for mileage used is not difficult at all, just as long as you know what can be counted and where to file. At Liberty Buick GMC we are always looking out for our customers, even their taxes! So we did a little digging and have come up with a few key pieces of information for anyone looking to save a bit of cash come next tax season. Let’s take a look at a few of the most common purposes for using a truck that can generate you some substantial financial returns. Business Purposes Though there is no compensation for driving from your home to your place of work, if you use your truck to drive from one job site to another, meet with clients, or even drive clients around, you are eligible for a write-off. In order to deduct for business purposes, document your mileage on Schedule C if you are self-employed, and on Schedule F if you are a farmer—or, if you’re an employee, you can document as an unreimbursed business expense on Form 2106. Medical Purposes According to the IRS, driving to get medical attention for you or your dependents, as long as the drive is “primarily for, and essential to, medical care,” allows for a deduction that can be made on Schedule A of your tax form as part of your itemized medical expenses. This is one deduction most people forget about or simply choose to ignore. But it’s easy to document, so why not? Charitable Purposes If you find yourself providing any type of service to a charitable organization, such as driving to perform volunteer work for a church, helping out with a charity, or volunteering at a local hospital, you can deduct driving expenses. Simply document the deduction on Schedule A on your tax form as part of your charitable donations. Making Deductions Most people do not take advantage of work-truck write-offs because they don’t want to bother with the paperwork. But, after looking into the actual process of making deductions, there are only two options: use your actual expenses, or use a standard mileage rate. If you want to deduct according to your actual expenses made, the following are what should be considered: Parking fees and tolls Vehicle loan interest Vehicle registration fees Personal property tax on the vehicle Lease and rental expenses Insurance Fuel Repairs—oil changes, tires, other routine maintenance If you would rather use a simpler method, consider documenting according to the standard mileage rate. This rate varies depending on the year and reason(s) for driving your work truck, but you can get a significant amount of money back using this method. The process is simple: take the number of miles you want to use as a write-off and multiply it by the applicable rate. Here are the rates for 2019: Business Purposes=58 cents per mile. Medical Purposes=20 cents per mile. Charitable Services=14 cents per mile. In addition to deducting for mileage, you can also deduct for parking fees and tolls under this option. If you have a truck and you use it for any or all of the purposes listed above, definitely consider your deductions! It may not seem to be much in terms of savings at first, but it adds up quickly and can be done every year.

Buick Encore

Why the 2020 Buick Encore Will Be a Crowd-Pleaser This Black Friday

Black Friday season has arrived! Here at Liberty Buick GMC, we’ve got deals that are nothing short of amazing on a slew of brand-new models, including Buick’s flagship SUV— the 2020 Encore. Buick and GMC marketing vice president, Phil Brook, said it best when he described the Buick Enclave as “everything want in a premium crossover with its distinct styling, quality and driving dynamics.” It’s true. In a crowded midsize SUV class that includes the Enclave’s siblings—the Chevrolet Traverse and GMC Acadia—the Enclave is an attention-getter. Since its design overhaul in 2018, however, the Buick Enclave has offered buyers much more than its sleek and subtle styling. The second-generation Enclave provides performance, comfort, safety, technology, and overall quality to rival any luxury crossover on the market. Yes, the three-row, seven-passenger Enclave makes for a superb family vehicle, but you don’t have to be toting around kids to appreciate its abundance of premium features. The 2020 refresh of the Buick Enclave comes with several notable changes, such as significant tech upgrades and the new Touring Sport appearance package, among others. Simply put, it’s better than ever, and it just might be the perfect vehicle for you if you’re in the market for a got-it-all midsize SUV. Let’s take a look at some of the most noteworthy qualities of the 2020 Buick Enclave and why you should consider making it your Black Friday purchase: Just in for 2020 The newest Enclave receives a number of updates that set it apart from 2018 and 2019 models. First of all, there is some new technology. Buyers of the 2020 Enclave will get the next generation of Buick’s renowned infotainment system and an eight-inch IntelliLink touchscreen standard on all trim levels. Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Wi-Fi hotspot, and six USB ports are still standard. Sirius XM/360L capability and navigation with traffic and weather alerts are still available as infotainment upgrades. Coming standard on Premium and Avenir models are an HD Rear Vision Camera, HD Surround Vision, and a massage feature and four-way power-adjustable lumbar support for the front and passenger seats. Also new for 2020 is the optional Sport Touring (ST) appearance package. This package is available on the Essence trim, and it features several exterior tweaks, such as a black mesh front grille, body-color grille surrounding, and 20-inch machined alloy wheels with contrasting graphite pockets. Overall, the ST package adds a little aggression and sportiness to the Enclave. The 2020 Enclave Avenir has a body-color lower panel, which is sleeker than the black plastic panels on previous models. Also, three colors have been added to the list of Enclave exterior finishes. Avenir buyers can now get the Rich Garnet Metallic, while Champagne Gold Metallic and Dark Moon Blue Metallic are available for all trims. Powertrain and Performance The 2020 Buick Enclave is available in four trim levels: Preferred, Essence, Premium, and Avenir. All trims come standard with a 3.6-liter V6 engine that’s matched with a nine-speed transmission. Performance is not Buick’s primary goal for the Enclave, but the 310 hp and 266 lb-ft of torque produced by the engine are sufficient for passing moves and towing up to 5,000 pounds. When it comes to the ride and handling, the 2020 Enclave is composed, comfortable and quiet. This is largely due to its responsive steering and brakes, as well as a suspension that provides a pleasant ride on smooth and rough terrain alike. Interior The 2020 Enclave’s cabin comes in impressive design. All and all, it looks simple yet sophisticated, and it’s unmistakably luxury. The wood-grain/metal trimmings, asymmetrical vents, and easy-to-access controls help in that regard. Also, the seats are really, really comfortable, and the Enclave’s cabin is among the top of the class in spaciousness. Plus, with a Pitch Slide seat in the second row and 60/40 folding seats in the third row, even more space opens up for cargo. Safety The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) gave the 2020 Buick Enclave five out of five stars in crash-test ratings. It comes standard with a rearview mirror camera, and you can opt for automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, lane-keep assist with lane departure warning, adaptive cruise control, and automatic high-beam headlights. There are plenty of incredible deals to be found at Liberty Buick GMC this Black Friday. If you’re looking for a midsize SUV that comfortably fits seven, looks distinguished inside and out, and has tons of features, the 2020 Buick Enclave could be the one for you. Be sure to come by our dealership to see the deals for yourself and take a test drive!

GMC Terrain

Black Friday Meets an Already-Cost-Effective 2020 GMC Terrain

The day after Thanksgiving is well known for attracting droves of American shoppers to retail stores. Considered to be the kickoff to the holiday season, Black Friday now spans over virtually all sectors of retail, and you can find deals on anything from electronics and toys to musical instruments and clothing. And with the prominence of online shopping, a single-day event has gradually turned into an entire weekend of sales that extend well into Cyber Monday. However, retail isn’t the only industry that participates in Black Friday. Did you know that a significant number of shoppers look elsewhere for their deals in late November? Over the last decade or so, these heightened shopping trends have spilled over into the automotive market, with dealerships everywhere offering steep discounts on much—if not all—of their models. This competition among manufacturers and dealerships creates a great opportunity for people who are in the market for a new vehicle. In fact, you can find some of the best car deals of the year throughout most of November. Here at Liberty Buick GMC, we’re not holding back on the discounts and incentives this November. We’ve got deals going for tons of brand-new models, and we would love for you to come by and see for yourself. Actually, we’ve got one of the most cost-effective vehicles on the market in stock— the 2020 GMC Terrain. And with additional discounts available, you would be hard-pressed to find another vehicle that offers you this kind of bang for your buck.   What makes the 2020 GMC Terrain so cost-effective? We’ll discuss that here, along with many other characteristics of the one-of-a-kind SUV: Overview of the 2020 GMC Terrain The 2020 GMC Terrain is in a crowded class of compact SUVs. Competition is fierce from popular models like the Honda CR-V, Mazda CX-5, Volkswagen Tiguan, and Toyota RAV4; yet, the Terrain holds its own and offers buyers several characteristics not found in other vehicles. Some describe it as a more upscale version of its sibling—the Chevrolet Equinox. But the Terrain is more than that; it’s an SUV that sets itself apart from the rest of the class with everything from its standard safety features to its attractive design to its tech options. Oh, and its fuel efficiency, among other things, makes it one of the most cost-effective vehicles you can buy today. The Terrain still comes in four different trims (SL, SLE, SLT, and Denali), but GMC has made some notable changes to the vehicle for 2020. Along with tweaking a few features here and there, the all-wheel-drive models are no longer available with a diesel engine. However, buyers can still opt for a diesel engine on the front-wheel-drive versions of the SLE and SLT trims. Most appealing, perhaps, are the changes to its standard safety features. In recent years, features such as automatic high-beam lights, automatic emergency braking, forward-collision alert, and lane-keep assistance were optional; now, they come stock.   Let’s get into some of the details of what makes the 2020 GMC Terrain so special: A Distinct Exterior The Terrain is a great-looking vehicle. As far as shape and size go, it does share some similarities with the Equinox. However, the Terrain has a distinct design that won’t be mistaken for any other vehicle. It looks refined and unquestionably luxurious with a graceful blend of sharp and rounded character lines, C-shape LED lighting, and squared-off grille. Its overall appearance is attention-getting yet easy to the palate. There are nine colors available for the 2020 Terrain: Smokey Quartz Metallic Graphite Gray Metallic Ebony Twilight Metallic Red Quartz Tintcoat Summit White Satin Steel Metallic Blue Emerald Metallic Quicksilver Metallic White Frost Tricoat Buyers who are looking for a more aggressive exterior should consider the Elevation Edition, which is available with the Graphite Gray Metallic, Ebony Twilight Metallic, Summit White, and Satin Steel Metallic colors. The Elevation Edition Terrain features a darkened grille, black roof rails and mirror caps, black exterior accents and trim badging, and 19” gloss-black aluminum wheels. A Handsome and Functional Interior Like other GMC models, the 2020 Terrain has got it going on in the interior. It comfortably seats five (with impressive legroom in the back row), and there’s ample space for cargo; actually, it’s among the top of the class in terms of cargo space. Much of this is due to 60/40 split-folding rear seats and an optional fold-flat front seat. With the back seats up, there are 29.6 cubic feet of cargo space behind the back row, and that space grows to 63.3 cubic feet when you fold down the back seats. Fold down the front passenger seat, and you can fit objects as long as eight feet in the vehicle. The interior of the 2020 Terrain also looks really good. The cabin is nothing less than what you would expect from a luxury vehicle, with high-quality design and materials throughout, especially in the SLT and Denali trims. All trims come standard with aluminum trim and a leather-wrapped steering wheel. Whether you opt for cloth or leather upholstery, the seat cushioning is sufficient, and you can increase comfort with features like advanced heated seats (which allow you to heat both the bottom and back cushion or only the bottom cushion) and power-adjustable seats. Lots of Standard Safety Features Though the 2020 Terrain comes wrapped in arresting style, one of its most impressive characteristics is how safe it is. It’s arguably as safe as any compact SUV on the market, and GMC added tons of standard safety features to the Terrain in 2020. General Motors calls the new package of active safety technology “Pro Safety,” and it comes on all four trims of the Terrain. The Pro Safety suite includes automatic high-beam lights (IntelliBeam headlamps), automatic emergency braking, forward-collision alert, lane-keep assistance, lane departure warning, following distance indicator, and front pedestrian braking.   There are also plenty of other safety features buyers can add by opting for the Driver Alert package. These features include: Lane Change Alert with Side Blind Zone Alert The main purpose of this feature is to help you prevent side-swiping and other types of accidents. Whenever you’re about to change lanes—or are in the midst of changing lanes—lights on your side mirrors alert you if there’s a vehicle in or quickly approaching your blind spot. Rear Cross-Traffic Alert This comes into play when you are reversing your vehicle, especially in parking lots. If there’s a vehicle approaching your vicinity (left or right), you will see an indicator symbol on your rear vision camera screen. Rear cross-traffic is detected through radar sensors on the back of the Terrain. Adaptive Cruise Control This technology uses cameras to automatically adapt your vehicle’s cruise control speed to keep a safe distance between you and the vehicles ahead of you. In short, it makes cruise control even safer and more convenient. Front and Rear Park Assist This feature also uses radar sensors to help drivers in parking lots. When you’re driving at low speeds and trying to park, the feature will give you distance alerts to nearby vehicles and objects so that you can safely park. Safety Alert Seat The Safety Alert Seat is one of the cooler safety features offered on the 2020 Terrain. In essence, it allows you to replace crash avoidance beeps with vibration pulses on the bottom of the driver’s seat. Teen Driver System This feature was created to help teenage drivers develop safe driving habits. When it’s set up, you can activate Teen Driver mode with your key fob. So, if you have a teen driver in your family, the vehicle will provide advice and feedback throughout the driving experience, and it will even produce a report card. Furthermore, you can control which vehicle features are available and which cannot be turned off during Teen Driver mode. It’s also worth noting the conventional safety features that buyers will find on the new Terrain: Driver, Passenger, Front Head, Rear Head, and Front Side Airbags Electronic Stability Control Traction Control Anti-Lock Brake System Daytime Running Lights Top-Notch Crash Test Results The safety doesn't end with the features when it comes to the 2020 GMC Terrain, as it received top marks for almost every category. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) gave it a five-star overall rating (out of five), as well as five stars in the front and side crash tests. Its only imperfect score was four stars in the rollover test, but it was evaluated to have only an 18.5% rollover risk. The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) has yet to evaluate the 2020 Terrain, but the 2019 model was given a “Good” (the highest rating) in all tests administered. Great Fuel Efficiency One of the main reasons why the 2020 GMC Terrain is such a cost-effective vehicle is that it gets great gas mileage. Buyers have a choice between two four-cylinder engines: a 1.5-liter good for 170 hp and 203 lb-ft of torque, and a 2.0-liter that produces 252 hp and 260 lb-ft of torque. Both of the engines are turbocharged and matched with a nine-speed automatic transmission. The 1.5-liter engine provides 30 MPG highway, 26 MPG city, and 28 MPG combined, while the 2.0-liter gives you 28 MPG highway, 22 MPG city, and 24 MPG combined. Trims and Prices As previously mentioned, the 2020 GMC Terrain is available in four trim levels: SL, SLE, SLT, and Denali. Let’s discuss some of the main features and prices involved with each one: The SL The SL is the Terrain’s base model, and it starts at $25,000 MSRP. For a base model, the Terrain SL comes with a lot of features. Safety-wise, it includes front pedestrian braking, forward-collision warning, and automatic emergency braking, all of which are new to this year’s model. It comes with many other safety features as well, such as a rear-view camera system, automatic high-beams, lane-keep assistance, lane departure warning, following distance indicator, and GMC’s Teen Driver system. Technology-wise, the Terrain SL includes a six-speaker audio system, 7” touchscreen, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Bluetooth connectivity, WiFi hotspot, four USB ports, proximity keyless entry, and push-button start. Oh, and it throws in a leather-wrapped steering wheel for good measure. The SLE Going up to the Terrain SLE, the price starts at $28,400. There aren’t a lot of added standard features. However, this is where the buyers are eligible for a slew of upgrade packages, including upgrades to styling, seating, the infotainment system, and safety. The SLT The SLT comes in at $31,200 and has several notable standard features. First of all, leather seats and remote start come stock. Also standard is dual-zone automatic climate control, power-adjustable driver’s seat, and heated front seats. Buyers of the SLT will also get a bigger touchscreen, along with other infotainment upgrades, and satellite radio capability. The Denali Like other GMC models, the Denali is the most luxurious trim of the Terrain. Starting at $38,300, this trim comes stock with the 2.0-liter turbocharged engine, a heated steering wheel, powered front seats (both), and a hands-free liftgate. This is also the trim that provides the most safety features, with additions like lane change alert with side blind zone alert, front and rear park assist, rear cross-traffic alert, and safety alert seat. Moreover, buyers of the Terrain Denali will get a seven-speaker Bose audio system, HD radio, and navigation.   If you’re looking for a great all-around SUV that makes sense economically, look no further than the 2020 GMC Terrain. And be sure to come by Liberty Buick GMC during our Black Friday sales event. We guarantee we’ll have the best deals you can find on all-new GMC models. We look forward to seeing you!

We Support Our Educators

We Support Our Educators—and it Shows!

At Liberty Buick-GMC Trucks we believe in our local educators. Actually, we think they deserve more credit for all the hard work they do day-in and day-out. This is why we offer an Educator Discount for all educators! That’s right, show us your teacher ID and we will provide some of the most impressive discounts around. Did you know the average teacher salary in North Carolina is roughly $51,000? This is close to $10,000 below the national average, according to a recent report coming out of Raleigh.* The painful realization that our state ranks 37 th in the nation in terms of teacher pay is something we at Liberty are not proud of, but we have found a way to help our educators out. By alleviating the high-cost of cars, we hope to enable our teachers to better focus on what’s important in life: family, friends, and career. And it just so happens that the job of a teacher is one that affects us all. Not only do we offer discounts on some of our favorite, most reliable vehicles for our local educators, we can also walk through the process of picking out the best vehicle for you. Your weekends are your time to relax, and that is something we do not want to take away from you. Instead of spending endless hours on the lot, we want to make your shopping experience as easy as possible. We know it can be a bit stressful and intimidating walking around, looking for that perfect car. And we know you don’t need any added stress, on top of the grading and planning and meetings, which is why we want to make your experience at Liberty Buick-GMC Trucks a positive one.   Before we get into the specifics of what we are currently offing our esteemed educators, here are a few tips to help you find your next vehicle: Don’t think about price. At least not at first. Having that number sign over your head the entire time you are searching for your next car can keep you from getting what you really want and need. For now, keep the price tag out of it. What do you really want in a car? Maybe it’s time to go for the bells and whistles you usually opt-out of. Regardless of what you may need, we have plenty to offer on our lot. Take it for a spin. Once you find the vehicle—or vehicles—you are interested in, stop in to Liberty and go for a test drive. Walk around and look at it. Kick the tires a few times—whatever you want. What matters most to us is that you drive away in your perfect car. Enhance your discount. An added feature to the GM Educator Discount is you can use it in conjunction with other eligible lease offers, which means you get even more off that car of your dreams! Now that you have a plan, here are some of our current discounts for educators: 2019 GMC ACADIA DENALI This celebrated SUV is normally priced at $ 47,290. Brand new 2019 models have been rolling in, but smart buyers will save on 2018 and 2017 luxury models now, as our year-end clearance sale gives you more for your money. “According to research firm J.D. Power and Associates, $50,000 is the slightly blurry line between mainstream and luxury in today's auto market,” reports CNBC. What will $50,000 get you at Liberty Buick GMC? The 2019 Buick Enclave Avenir is a mid-sized SUV that comes with an impressive standard package including three-row, leather seating with heated driver and front passenger seats; wood-toned accents throughout the cabin; power moonroof with rear fixed skylight; modern amenities like wireless charging, a Bose performance-enhanced premium 10-speaker system; rear park assist; remote start; and a hands-free liftgate; plus safety measures including front and rear parking assist, lane change and departure alerts, and seven airbag system. The Enclave gets an estimated 26 MPG highway, 18 MPG city. The 2019 Enclave Premium is available as an AWD with similar options. “The Avenir promises tech, safety and comfort features on par with what's offered in the best luxury crossovers,” writes Edmunds. U.S. News & World Report ranks the 2019 Buick Enclave second in midsized SUVs, third in SUVs with three rows, and fifth in crossover SUVs, making it a sound investment. “Its smooth performance and genteel interior are examples of the Enclave' high levels of refinement, and the current generation earns near-perfect predicted reliability scores,” they write. The Enclave also boasts one of Buick’s better kept secrets — a balance of class and driveability. “In this manner, it performs exceptionally well, aided by a V6 engine and a nine-speed automatic transmission that are respectably powerful and polished in most situations, “ U.S. News & World Report writes. “The 310-horsepower setup provides sufficient acceleration off the line and on the highway.” With nearly $8,000 off 2018 Buick models including the Enclave, it’s a perfect time to buy in to the luxury category, if you haven’t before. You will find the 2018 Buick Enclave, LaCrosse, and TourX in limited quantities and priced from $31,497 to $47,662 available now. When it comes to trucks, GM is hard to beat. Brand new, top-of-the-line models are arriving at the Liberty Buick GMC lot including a 2019 GMC Sierra 3500HD Crew Cab Long Box 4-Wheel Drive Denali. It has lane departure warning, forward collision alert, and front and rear parking assist, an EZ-Lift and Lower tailgate, sunroof, all weather floor mats, built-in WiFi, keyless entry, remote start, and heated leather seats. “Even if you ignore unique-to-truck features like those off-road tires, spray-in bed liners and cargo tie-downs, a luxury shopper will find virtually all the features of a high-line sedan now offered on top-end pickups,” writes CNBC. With even more cabin space, the 2019 GMC Yukon XL is available with 4WD and the Denali trim package and priced about $3,500 less than MSPR at $77,088 or below. The Yukon XL is, as its name would imply, a larger version of the Yukon with 20 inches more length and a 14-inch wider wheelbase. These specs give the XL a whopping 39.3 cubic feet of cargo volume — more than twice that of the Yukon’s 15.3 cubic feet. “As capable as they are handsome, the Yukon and the stretched Yukon XL are multitasking machines,” writes Car & Driver. “If your idea of a good time includes hauling the family up a mountain while towing a travel trailer, there are few alternatives to the Yukon.” We have some great savings available on the 2018 Yukon 4WD Denali and Yukon XL 4WD Denali, as well as the 2018 Yukon 2WD XL Denali, which also are eligible for GMC Special Offers. You should receive a response to your dispute within 30 days. Do you some of the things that hurt a credit score? Even one late payment: if you make a payment more than 30 days late, chances are it’s going to show up on your report; if you’re having trouble making payments, it’s better to try to work out a payment plan and keep an account from going to collections Not paying ALL of your bills on time: utilities, rent, phone bills — every kind of bill adds up Applying for more credit: a hard credit inquiry impacts your score whether or not you’re approved Canceling your zero-balance credit cards: cancelling cards reduces the amount of credit you have and can shorten your credit history Transferring balances to a single card: it may seem easier, but consolidation on to one card can negatively impact your debt ratio so that you owe too much of a card’s available credit Co-signing credit applications: you may be great about paying your own bills, but the person you’re co-signing for may not be; don’t let their negligence tank your credit Not having enough credit diversity: credit cards, loans, bills — it matters that you can keep multiple accounts paid up Holding high credit card balances: even though you may not own that much, if you owe a high percentage of your available credit, that’s a flag Unemployment leading to missed payments: going without a job for a while isn’t the problem; it’s not paying bills that hurts Ignoring your credit report: check it annually and do what you can to fix it Know what your trade in is worth Many people buy a car to replace an older car. At Liberty Buick GMC we can help you figure out how much your trade in is worth, which will help your buying power.
